The Ray of Hope Clinic

Ray of Hope

Ray of Hope Community Health Center- Kawangware, Nairobi Kenya The Ray of Hope Clinic and Community Center was opened in Kawangware in October of 2004 with funding from Project Contact Africa and a grant for medicine from the National Basketball Players Association.

Project Contact Africa is the brainchild of Mr. Kermit Washington who has worked non-stop over the past 12 years to make a difference in the lives of the poor and underserved in Kenya.

The Ray of Hope Clinic and Community Center focuses on curative, preventive and educational services for people living in the slums. Over the last five years are programs have expanded and now include the clinic, the ROH Learning Center and a community outreach and feeding program that serves over 300 families. We continue to open the clinic for educational programming for providers with a focus on updating skills, public health issues and community activism.

Special thanks goes to all the staff of the clinic for their dedication and hard work. Special thanks and acknowledgement go to Mrs. Florence Muyundo, a Clinical Officer and the Clinic Director. Florence is an extra-ordinary human being whose dedication and perseverance are rare in this world. She is a dedicated provider who has been caring and working with people living in the slums for many years. She has worked tirelessly to turn the dream for the Ray of Hope Clinic into a reality.

The Ray of Hope Clinic and Community Centre was developed by the Ray of Hope Foundation and Project Contact Africa.
