Ray of Hope Community Health Center- Kawangware, Nairobi Kenya

The Ray of Hope Clinic was opened in Kawangware in October of 2004 throug
h funding from Project Contact Africa and a grant from the National Basketball Players Association.

Project Contact Africa is the brainchild of Mr. Kermit Washington who has worked non-stop over the past 10 years to make a differnece in the lives of the poor and underserved in Kenya.

The Ray of Hope Clinic and Community Center focuses on curative, preventive and educational services for people living in the slums. In addition, the clinic is a venue for education program for providers with a focus on updating skills, public health issues and community activism.

Special thanks also goes to all the staff of the clinic for their dedication and hard work during the start up phase of operations.In particular, we would like to acknowledge Mrs. Florence Muyundo, a Clinical Officer and the Clinic Director. Florence is an extra-ordinary human being whose dedication and perseverance are rare in this world. She is a dedicated provider who has been caring and working with people living in the slums for many years. She has worked tirelessly to turn the dream for the Ray of Hope Clinic to a reality.
